Mr Soma Narayana Singh, circle inspector of the ACB at Sangareddy in Medak district, today tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad.

Reports said ACB officials suspected him of leaking information to the liquor lobby about the impending raids few days ago and initiated action against him. They sought an explanation from him on his links with the liquor lobby.

Fearing disciplinary action by his bosses, he tried to commit suicide, according to information available. (JUBS)
