Doctors working at the Government Area hospital at Pulivendula in Kadapa district requested for transfer from the place expressing their inability to work amid the presence of rowdies and goondas of the YSR congress party president YS Jaganmohan reddy.

Addressing a press conference at the Kadapa press club Friday evening, Doctors Uma Maheswari, Subhasini, Raghavendra Kumar and Sri Kalpana said they were in a totally hapless condition and couldn’t continue as doctors there.

Explaining about an incident that made them decide in favour of leaving the town, the Doctors said recently a seriously injured person in an accident was admitted to the hospital in 108 and he died during the course of treatment.

“However, the goondas of Jagan abused us thinking we were responsible for his death,” they said.  “They attacked the hospital premises, destroyed the glass doors of the OP section and terrorized the hospital staff,” said the Doctors.

Asking the government to transfer them to any other place in the state, the doctors made it clear they could not work in constant fear at the hospital. “The culprits should be severely punished,” the doctors demanded, adding they are ready to face a probe into the death of the accident victim.
