Telugu Fete to take off in Chennai

The 2-day celebrations of the 19th anniversary of the World Telugu Federation will take off on a grand note in Chennai today with the world famous Surabhi group presenting the stage show of the famous Mayabazar play.

Announcing the programme, the Federation Chairperson Ms VL Indira Dutt told journalists today that the Federation has decided to give a boost to the Telugu stage shows to bring back lost glory to the Telugu Naatakam.

The Telugu festival would be graced by the presence of the Tamil Nadu Governor Mr K. Rosaiah and the Amibika group chairman Mr Ambika Krishana.

Ms Dutt said the Surabhi group will present the Bhakta Prahlada show on Sunday. The stage shows will be played at the famous Vani Mahal on GN Chetti Road near Pondy Bazar.

Veteran folklore artiste Mr PV Saisree would be felicitated with the Karanti Lakshmi Narsaiah Award, said the organizers. (JUBS)
