Warangal man killed in US

A Telugu man, working at a gas filling station in the US, was killed by unidentified assailants at his work place last week, according to reports.

45-year old Kismat Das, belonging to the Ekasila Nagar of Warangal town, has been working as a worker at the gas station in the US for the last three years.

Reports reaching his family members at Warangal said some unidentified persons attacked the gas station on Thursday and when Das resisted their attempts to rob the cash, they fired at him three rounds. Das was seriously injured in the firing.

Family members said he was immediately hospitalized but Das succumbed to his injuries on Saturday in the hospital. He was survived by wife and three children.

At the request of his wife, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has been making arrangements to send his body to Warangal. More detailed information of the incident is yet to be received. (JUBS)
