CM Kirankumar reddy asked the Arogya Sree Trust CEO to explore the possibilities of extending the Arogya Sree scheme to the entire population in the state and submit a report as soon as possible to him on the issue.

At a review meeting over the Arogya Sree scheme at his camp office on Wednesday, CM said the Central Planning Commission has been working on a new scheme to extend medical benefits and services to the entire population of the country irrespective of their financial status.

“Keeping that in mind, explore the possibilities of extending the Arogya Sree medical benefit to the 8.4 Cr population of the state irrespective of their financial status and submit a report at the earliest,” Kiran told the Trust CEO.

Health minister Dr DL Ravindra Reddy who also participated in the meeting told journalists that the proposal demands heavy expenditure for implementation but it could be made possible by reducing the administrative expenditure of the Arogya Sree scheme and the health and medical department.

The minister said they have also discussed the possibility of extending the 108 services on a full fledged level and bringing the 104 services also into the jurisdiction of the Arogya Sree Trust. (JUBS)
