Suri sister Hemalatha arrested in threatening case

Police today arrested Gangula Hemalatha Reddy, sister of the slain faction leader Mr Maddelacheruvu Suri in a case registered against her for threatening a realtor at Maheswaram some one year ago.

The CID police said in a statement they had arrested her for threatening a real estate agent and forcibly occupying his land at Maheswaram. “She is the accused number 4 in the case,” said the statement adding that she had resorted to the act of threatening him with the active support of her brother Suri.

Police later produced her before the Nampally criminal court which sent her to judicial custody for two weeks. She was then shifted to the Chanchalguda jail.

The police have also registered a case against Dr Sarat Chandra, the suspended former NIMS doctor who reportedly colluded with the Suri gang. (JUBS)
