World Telugu meet at Mauritius, Dec 08

The three day World Telugu meet for the third time would be held at Mauritius on December 08, 09 and 10. On Friday at Vijayawada, conference coordinator and former minister Mandali Budhaprasad said that Mauritius PM Naveen Ramgulam would formally inaugurate the conference.

Speaking to the press, he said this will be the platform where the Telugu people across the globe would meet to discuss on various issues. The discussion would be on the problems faced by the Telugu people, in the present scenario. The meet would also highlight the scope for enhancement of Telugu literature and cultural aspects.

The conference would be held at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre at Mauritius. The meet would have the cultural team sent by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy informed the Potti Sreeramulu University committee Krishna Rao. The meet would be graced by dignitaries from the state like Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Ministers Vatti Vasantha Kumar and Sailaja Naidu.  A souvenir would be released at the meet in coordination with the Telugu University and Telugu Academy.

Telugu race has the history that could be candidly traced back to at least two thousand five hundred years. Passing through the rise, decline and fall many a time, the Telugus retained their integrated cultural heritage. It is to preserve and pay a glorious tribute to that aspect, the World Telugu Conference has been envisaged.
