Bhim Rao Lokur sworn in as CJ of APHC

Justice Madan Bhim Rao Lokur was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of AP High Court in place of Nissar Ahammed Kakru on Tuesday.

 

Governor ESL Narasimhan administered the oath to Justice Lokur at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy, deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, several ministers and MLAs.

 

He was earlier chief justice of Gauhati High Court and was transferred to AP high court. Born on December 31, 1953, Mr Justice Madan Bhim Rao Lokur holds an LLB degree from Delhi University.

 

He held many judicial posts in his career including the Additional Solicitor General of India and always advocated judicial reforms.
