Accused in cash-for-vote scam get bail

All the accused in the 2008 cash-for-votes scam were granted bail by the Delhi High Court today.

Former BJP MPs Fagan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora, political activist Suhail Hindustani, Sanjeev Saxena, former aide of MP Amar Singh and Sudheendra Kulkarni, advisor to the top BJP leader LK Advani were granted bail.

BJP MP Ashok Argal has already obtained anticipatory bail in the scam and promised to cooperate with the investigators as and when called for. Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was also granted bail in the case earlier in October.

The court granted bail to all the five accused on furnishing a bond of Rs 2 lakh each. The court directed them to be present in all the hearings and cooperate with all investigating agencies and asked them not to go abroad.
