CBI consulting legal experts on naming Jagan as co-accused

CBI is reportedly consulting legal experts on including the name of YSR congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy in the FIR registered in the illegal mining case.

The inclusion of Jagan’s name would be based on the statement given by Mr Konda Reddy, son of former MLA Mr Varadarajulu reddy to the CBI that Jagan had forced him to withdraw his high court case in favour of Gali Janardhan reddy-owned Obulapuram Mining Company.

The offence is punishable under sections 384 and 506 of the IPC for extortion and criminal intimidation respectively.

CBI has already taken the statement of Konda Reddy under section 160 (1) of Cr PC and recorded his statement in the presence of a magistrate under section 164 of Cr PC for paving the way to name Jagan ass co-accused in the illegal mining case and pave the way for his arrest.

CBI has arrested Koneru Prasad in the similar way after recording his statement in the presence of a magistrate in the Emaar land allotment scam. In the illegal mining case also, the CBI is following the same method.

Meanwhile, CBI issued notices to Mr Viplavakumar, son of T region congress leader Mr K. Keshava Rao and Congress MLA Mr Katasani Rambhupal Reddy in the illegal mining case.
