CBI called me as a witness: Jagan

YSR congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy said today that CBI called him only as a witness in the illegal mining case registered against Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) and its owner Gali Janardhan reddy and not as accused in the case.

Speaking to reporters after coming out of the CBI office at Koti in Hyderabad where he had a two and half hour grueling session with the investigators, Jagan said the TDP president Mr Chandrababu Naidu gave license to the OMC in 2002 when he was the chief minister.

He flashed to reporters a copy of the GO which says that Chandrababu Naidu transferred 64.2 acres of land for mining to the OMC in 2002. “Chandrababu first gave on lease the land for mining to Mr Rammohan Reddy in 1996 but he transferred it to the OMC in 2002,” said Jagan.

He said he gave a copy of the GO to the CBI officials and requested them to investigate the role of Chandrababu Naidu also in the illegal mining case.

“They examined me as a witness just as they had examined Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. This itself proves that I have no role in the illegal mining,” he said and demanded that Chandrababu Naidu must be probed in the case.

He also asked the Telugu dailies Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy and the TV 9 channel to follow journalistic standards and expose the role of Chandrababu Naidu in the scam.
