Guntur congress MP Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao today accused the BJP of supporting the Telangana cause for the sake of votes.

Addressing the activists of the human chain formed at the Mother Teresa centre in Guntur on the third day of the three-day protest activity taken up by the  Samaikhyandhra JAC to keep the state untied, Mr Sambasiva rao said the BJP didn’t speak about the separate state of Telangana during its regime at the Centre.

“The party which didn’t speak about the Telangana cause during its administration is now hankering after it and demanding the division of the state just for the sake of votes,” he said. “It is a strategy of the BJP to improve its strength in the Telangana area but even the Telangana people do not believe the statements of BJP,” he said.

Mr Rayapati said that BJP may get one or two seats in the Telangana area with its antics but it will draw a big zero in the Seema Andhra area.

He asked the people to fight for the cause of a united AP without troubling the state government and expressed the hope that the Centre would take a decision opposing the formation of Telangana state.
