The railway authorities have announced that it would run six special trains between Vijayawada and Secunderabad to meet the passenger traffic for three days from today.
As the Telangana agitators have been stopping the private buses coming from the coastal regions to Hyderabad and attacking them with stones, most of the private operators have decided to play safe and not run their services from Vijayawada and other places. Already, RTC management has also decided to suspend its long distance services to Hyderabad from most of the coastal areas due to fear of attacks by the Telangana agitators.
During the last three days, unruly Telangana protagonists attacked and damaged several buses at the border points of Andhra and Telangana putting the commuters to untold sufferings. Even today also, a number of buses have been attacked by the agitators.
In this back drop, thousands of passengers have been stranded in Vijayawada bus stand due to festival season.
The railways authorities said daily two special trains would be run from today between the two cities. Both of them would start at 11.15 pm at Vijayawada and Secunderabad simultaneously. The special trains would be run for three days from today.
