Protestors attack, lay siege to houses of ministers, MLAs

NandeeswarGoudOn the 17th day of the all people’s strike that has brought the administration across Telangana to a standstill, the pro-Telangana elements, led by the leaders of the political JAC, today tried to lay siege to the houses of T ministers and MLAs who have refused to resign for the sake of Telangana.

The JAC and TRS activists crossed over the barbed wire fencing arranged near the house of Mr Nandeeswar Goud, Patancheruvu MLA and tried to barge into his house forcing police to lathicharge them. Police arrested some of the activists and took them to different police stations.

While Telangana lawyers tried to reach the house of Minister Mr Danam Nagender at Banjara Hills in a procession of ‘death music band’ to demand his resignation and courted arrest, activists tried to attack Minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy’s house at her native village Gomaram of Sivampeta Mandalam in Medak district. Police, who were present in large numbers in the village, chased them away.

Another group of T activists, led by TRS leader Nayani Narasimha reddy, tried to barge into the house of Musheerabad Congress MLA Ms P. Manemma at Banjara Hills but police arrested them when they were about to enter into her house.

The protestors also laid siege to the house of Qutbullahpur legislator Srisailam Goud on the outskirts of Hyderabad but police arrested them and took them to different police stations.

Telangana on the brink

With more than 4 lakh government employees across Telangana region continuing their strike along with doctors, lawyers, teachers, RTC staff, Government drivers in the secretariat, Singareni Collieries staff and even fourth class employees in all departments, the system has almost collapsed in the T region taking the strike to its zenith.

While more than 10,000 buses are off the roads for the 11th day today crippling the public transport system, Government suffered a huge loss of Rs.500 Cr due to boycott of the work by the Singareni Collieries staff.

The state secretariat continued to function with employees of the Seema Andhra attending to their duties with heavy police escort while the T employees continuing their dharnas and demonstrations in its campus.
