CBI sleuths today arrived in the Obulapuram town of Ananthapuram district to examine the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) mines and arrive at a decision on the quantum of illegal mining in the area.
The CBI teams were accompanied by forest and mining department officials. Soon after the arrival in the town, they left for the mining area along with local police and civil officials.
Meanwhile, some of the CBI officials took the arrested Srinivasa reddy from Hyderabad to the Bellary town and kept him in the Paramadevanahalli police station. Reports said he would be taken to the local Axis bank by the agency officials for verifying his statements with the bank records.
Both Mr Gali Janardhan reddy and Srinivasa reddy are in CBI custody as per the court orders and Janardhan reddy continues to be interrogated by the investigators at Hyderabad.
