CM asks officials to take steps to foil strike

CMKiranSerious over the support being extended to the mass general strike by all sections of the Telangana people, CM today directed the District Collectors and senior civil and revenue officials to make alternative arrangements to ensure the smooth functioning of normal public life in all Telangana districts.

Thousands of T employees of various departments in all T districts including Hyderabad began the mass general strike this morning demanding the formation of separate Telangana state even as the Seema Andhra congress leaders made it clear to the Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in their discussions with him on Monday that they would not agree to the division of the state under any circumstances.

The chief minister held a high level review meeting with the chief secretary and the DGP at the secretariat and directed them to take all possible steps to ensure that the people are not adversely affected by the mass general strike.

Reports said that the CM has toyed with the idea of brining employees from various departments in the Seema Andhra areas to keep the administration going without any hindrance in the wake of the T employees’ strike.

However, Kiran is said to have withdrawn the idea after a thorough discussion with the senior officials.
