Narsing police of Hyderabad have registered case against Mr Ayazuddin, 16, son of former cricket captain Mr Azharuddin, for indulging in illegal bike racing on 1000 CC bikes.
Police said they have registered case under sections 304 A and 337 of IPC for participating in bike races without police permission and causing the death of a person. “We are conducting the investigation in connection with the case,” they said.
Mr Ayazuddin was critically injured during his bike race early morning on Sunday as he fell from his bike when he was riding at a speed of 140 km at Puppalaguda Toll gate near Rajendranagar. He is now battling for life in the Apollo Hospitals at Jubilee Hills.
Pillion rider Mr Azmal, cousin of Ayazuddin who was nephew of Azharuddin, sustained serious injuries in the bike race and later died in the hospital. Mr Azmal’s parents have complained to the police that Ayazuddin was responsible for Azmal’s death.
It is said that he along with some of his friends, hailing from the affluent families of the city, has been participating in bike races illegally for a long time.
