Rich tributes paid to the departed leader, YSR

Rich tributes paid to the departed leader  YSROn the second death anniversary of the former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, on Friday at his memorial in Idupulapaya in Kadapa district, kith and kin of the leader paid homages to the departed leader. YSR family members, including Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Y.S. Vijayalakshmi, Sharmila and former mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy, visited the memorial and mourned YSR’s untimely death.

It is but natural that all present at the memorial broke into tears after placing flowers on his tomb. Prayers were offered across the state on this occasion and at the memorial all religious prayers were offered by the YSR congress members.

Jagan and his paternal uncle and former Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy shared a few moments together while the later was taking out a padayatra from Chinna Rangapuram, near Pulivendula, to Idupulapaya to pay tributes to his departed brother.

Later Mr Jagan left for Bengaluru. Legislators Konda Sureka, G. Srikanth Reddy, MLC Chappidi Narayana Reddy and YSRC leaders were also among those who paid tributes to YSR in Idupulapaya.

About 30,000 people visited YSR Ghat including several close relatives of the family such as YV Subba Reddy, YS Bhaskar Reddy, YS Avinash Reddy and EC Gangi Reddy.

It may be recalled, YSR, as the late chief minister was popularly known, was killed in a helicopter crash in 2009. The government helicopter carrying him from Hyderabad to Chittoor district crashed in bad weather in Kurnool district on Sep 2. Four others, including two pilots, also died with him.
