Solution through talks, avers Botsa

botsaPCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, who held talks with the Telangana congress leaders on Friday on the T issue on the instructions of the party high command, said today that the nagging Telangana problem could be solved through discussions only.

Speaking to media persons at the party headquarters in Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Botsa said talks were compulsory for finding solutions to issues like Telangana. “Notwithstanding the agitations of different types, ultimately a solution would be found through talks only,” he said, refusing to leak the details of his discussions with T leaders.

Speaking about the hike in RTC bus charges, Botsa defended the action saying the APSRTC would still have losses to the tune of Rs.200 Cr despite the increase.

Defends Lagadapati

Defending Vijayawada MP Mr Lagadapati’s allegations against YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy, the PCC chief found fault with Sakshi daily owned by Jagan for reportedly publishing stories of a conspiracy behind the death of YSR in accident.

He said that already the Rosaiah regime ordered an inquiry into the allegations of conspiracy leveled by Sakshi daily and found nothing. The inquiry concluded that the helicopter crash occurred due to bad weather, he added.

“Even YSR’s wife YS Vijayalakshmi said in the party’s plenary that she requested her husband not to go by the helicopter as bad weather prevailed on the fateful day,” said Botsa. “The then Chittor district congress leaders made phone calls to YSR and requested him to make the journey saying that weather was favourable and good. All those congress leaders who made the phone calls are today in YSR congress party. Are we blaming them for the helicopter crash,” asked Botsa.

He called upon the YSR Congress party and the Sakshi daily not to resort to cheap politics over the death of YSR.
