10 Cong MPs quit LS, RS

10 Cong MPs quit LS RST congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mr K. Keshava Rao said today 10 congress MPs of the Telangana area had resigned their seats seeking the formation of Telangana state immediately.

Speaking to media persons in Delhi after submitting the resignations, he said while he quit his Rajya Sabha seat, nine members of the Lok Sabha had submitted their resignation papers to the Speaker Meira Kumar. “I have given my quit letter to the Rajya Sabha chairman.”

Taking a dig at the statement of the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram that an all party meeting on T issue would be convened soon after obtaining the opinion of the two main parties in the state, KK said that there was nothing new in the statement. “He repeated the same old statement. But just because a party did not attend the meeting, nothing stopped them from going ahead with conducting the all party meeting all these days,” Keshava rao said making fun of the Home Minister’s statement.

“Either our resignations should be accepted or Telangana should be declared,” the other MPs who were also present in the media conference demanded. They also heckled at the statement of Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that all three regions of the state should be consulted before taking any decision on Telangana.
