State Hindi Academy Chairman and well known writer Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad was selected for the prestigious Geetha Devi Goenka Award for the year 2011.
Making the announcement in Delhi today, the Kamala Goenka Foundation president Mr Syamsundar Goenka said that Mr Lakshmi Prasad was selected for the award for his translation into Telugu of the autobiography of famous poet late Harivamsha Rai Bachchan, father of Big B Amitabh Bachchan.
The award will be presented to him at a function to be held in the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in Hyderabad on August 28, he said.
