Police chief warns against law violation

Hours ahead of the non-cooperation movement beginning February 16 across Telangana, the
DGP Aravinda Rao, law violationpolice chief today warned that the government would act very tough against those indulging in violation of law as part of the movement.

Speaking at a media conference in Hyderabad, DGP Aravinda rao said that police were asked to book cases against those violating law during the movement. “We will book cases against those violating the law and punishment would be stringent for repeated offenders,” he said.

He warned that travelling by RTC buses and trains and entering cinema halls with out buying tickets and disrupting the work of others would attract the provisions of various sections of law and the police will deal with such offences as per the law.

The Telangana political JAC and the TRS have given a call to the people to travel by buses and trains and enter movie theaters without buying tickets. They also asked the T people not to pay property taxes, electricity and water bills till the government introduces the Telangana Bill in the parliament.

Aravinda rao also said that repeated offenders will attract stringent sections and the police will act tough against those found to be indulging in arson. “The government is in the process of withdrawing all cases booked against activists for violating the law in the past but now the cases will not be withdrawn if any of them is involved in violation again,” he said.
