Fierce lobbying on for council nominations

Fierce lobbying, Council nominationsFierce lobbying is going on among the congress leaders to get party nod for contesting the forthcoming legislative council elections.

Several aspirants have already started lobbying in Delhi with the party big wigs as the deadline for filing the nominations from the assembly quota closes on March 7.

Former chief minister Nadendla Bhaskara rao and former PCC chief M. Satyanarayana rao are among those who are in Delhi seeking party nominations for the Council.

Apart from former speaker Suresh Reddy and former minister Shabbir Ali, former council members B Kamalakar Rao and P Goverdhan Reddy, former MP Mallu Ravi and APCC general secretary R Ananda Bhaskar, all from Telangana, are vying for the nominations.

From the Andhra region, council chairman A Chakrapani, deputy chairman Md Jani, siting member Paladugu Venkatarao, APCC vice president Tripurana Venkataratnam, former MLC Madasu Gangadharam, Tollywood producer G.Adiseshagiri rao and the APIIC chairman S S Subramanyam are also camping in Delhi trying their luck.

A senior party functionary told media persons in Delhi that the list would be announced on March 5.
