Decrying strongly the vandalism and destruction of the statues of the most revered Telugu legendary people on the Tank Bund, chief minister Kirankumar reddy today announced that the persons responsible for the destruction would be dealt with severely.

Speaking at a media conference in Hyderabad, the CM said that it was unfortunate that the JAC leaders did not keep their promise of a peaceful Million March. “The destruction of the statues has crippled the Telugu pride,” he said.      

“When the JAC leaders met me, they said they would ensure a peaceful Million March but they did not keep their promise,” Kirankumar said. “The Telugu pride was concretized by the legendary Telugu personalities whose statues were uprooted,” the CM said and added that those responsible for the destruction would be punished severely.

Asserting that the destroyed statues will be reinstalled, he condemned the attack on journalists and their cameras. “We will not leave any one,” he said.
