Jagan faces hostile crowds

Jagan, hostile crowds, thermal power project, victims of firing, Kakarapalli firing incident For the second day today in Srikakulam district, former Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy faced hostile people who wanted to know from Jagan if he had any shares in the East Coast Thermal Power project.

As part of his programme to console the victims of police firing in which two persons were killed and several others injured a few days ago, Jagan declared in Palasapuram village of Sompeta Mandalam that in case he becomes the chief minister he would first sign the file to close down the thermal power station.

When Jagan landed in Lakkavaram village after his trip to Palasapuram, a villager asked him to reveal the details of the late YSR’s share in the sinful project and Jagan had to fumble to answer that. But he said that he came there to clear doubts raised by others over the role played by his father and also to console the victims of firing.

“No one objected when my father gave permission for the project but I came here now to oppose it since you are now opposing it,” he said and added that he would fight along with them till the project is closed.

In the village Akasalakhavaram, one Mr Bhaskara rao asked Jagan to reveal if he, his brother-in- law and other family members had any share in the sinful project. “First you explain those things and then only express your support to us,” Mr Bhaskara rao told him on his face. “The allegations are baseless and it is only the conspiracy of government and the opposition parties,” an impatient Jagan replied.

Earlier, Jagan had to abandon Maha Dharna programme at the Collectorate in Srikakulam district as there were not many people at the camp.

Chandrababu also questioned

People also questioned Chandrababu during his trip to the district and asked him to reveal the shares of TDP leader Yerram Naidu and his brother in the project. It is not a co-incidence that Yerram Naidu and his brother did not accompany Chandrababu during his trip to console the firing victims.
