Soy intake don’t improve asthma May 28, 2015 13:19

Previous studies have suggested that soy intake leads to decreased asthma severity. It was disapproved by the recent findings by the study conducted by the Northwestern Medical medicine and the American Lung Association Asthma Clinical Research Network, published Tuesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). "You are what you eat, but that's a whole constellation of foods, not just a single food or a single component of a food," said first author Lewis Smith, professor of medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The study examined the effects of soy in 386 adults and children aged 12 or older with poorly controlled asthma. All were taking medicine to treat their asthma but none were consuming soy. In the randomized study, half of the participants took a soy isoflavone supplement twice daily for six months, and the other half took a placebo. "This study highlights why it is so important to perform well-designed, placebo-controlled studies when associations are reported between specific nutrients and disease outcomes," Smith said.By Lizitha

Balakrishna is the one who has a huge craze among the mass audience. A single punch dialogue uttered by him would be sufficient to snap the house full boards at the theatre. But it should be remembered that all these are possible only in movies but not live.Balayya had to face this situation in ‘Mahanadu’ yesterday. The actor cum politician was restricted to enter from the main entrance of the venue where Mahanadu is being held. Police stopped him at the surrounding of ‘Telugu Vijayam’ and asked him to go from the other way. But, Balayya who is very firm with his decision to go from the main entrance, fought with the police saying that he is an MLA. But Police said that, they have orders to not to allow anyone through the main entrance other than the Chief Minister. In fact, Balayya’s driver got ready to reverse the car, but the action hero restricted him to do so. Later, the police explained the situation and Balayya had to drop from his decision and finally turned his vehicle towards the back door. In fact, it is not only Balayya but many other MLAs had faced the similar situation at the entrance. Compared to the previous years, the security measures for Mahanadu have been increased this year. However the reason behind this is anyway prevent serious issues at the entrance. Hope the MLAs understands it and act accordingly.By Phani

23-year old Yaduveer is Mysuru's New Maharaja May 28, 2015 11:26

The 23-year-old Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will be crowned today as the new Maharaja, becoming the head of the Wodiyar family. Yaduveer will ascend the Bhadrasana, a silver throne on May 28 between 9.30 am and 10.35 am at the Kalyana Mantapa of Amba Vilas Palace, Mysore. The young man, who is a graduate from a University on the east coast of the United States, said that he was interested in promoting tourism in the area - and that he needed time to get used to the rituals. His uncle, Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, took the last coronation in 1974. He died in 2013.The news fascinates many Mysoreans despite they knew about Republic of India. They keep faith in new Maharaja and trust that the family will preserve the traditions of the family. The Wadiyar dynasty started its rule of the kingdom of Mysore about 600 years ago. As the centuries roll down, the coronation of a new king has become a private affair in the Republic of India.“Ascending the Bhadrasana is a pre-requisite for one to ascend the golden throne. He will ascend the golden throne only during Navarathri Utsav,” Maharani Pramoda Devi Wadiyar  said. On the coronation, she said, “The ceremony will be carried out as per tradition as it was done 400 years ago, without any change. The dates of the ceremony were finalised only on May 20 followed by the consent of the gurus and family members. We had to rush as there were no good dates till November and since the ceremony was supposed to be held before Dasara”. “We are yet to finalise the list of dignitaries. We have not printed invitations due to time constraints. Hence we have written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inviting him to participate in the event. Yaduveer’s fiance Trishika Kumari will also participate. The royal family members will follow the community dress code. Arrangements will be made for a live relay on a 20 feet LED screen, seating arrangements will be made for over 5000 people outside the Palace to witness the coronation ceremony on May 28. There will be a reception at 7 pm at the main Darbar hall for the general public and well wishers of the royal family. Since Yaduveer is expected to visit all 15 temples in the palace premises before sunset, he will move around in a car at 3 pm,” she said.Dasara veteran Balarama will be participating in all Dasara rituals. “On May 27, various homas and rituals will be carried out, followed by an oil bath and kankana dharna and on the same day Paada pooja of Parakaala math guru Sir Abhinava Vaageesha Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swami will be held. On May 28, the coronation ceremony will be held followed by a few homas including Lakshminarayana, Umamaheswari, Vani Brahma and Srirama Taraka” she said. - Manohar

Naidu’s strategy on omitting Pawan! May 28, 2015 11:04

A year back, these are the days where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu  was chanting the names of Modi and Pawan Kalyan. Before the elections, in many public meetings, Naidu openly said that, Pawan is the person who wishes the welfare of the public without the question of any self benefits. Then what is that happened in this one year, which made Naidu to put Pawan aside, even in the TDP’s prestigious annual conclave ‘Mahanadu’.Naidu put Pawan aside for these reasons?Firstly, after TDP won the elections, many said that it was Pawan’s craze which made TDP to gain such a huge majority.Through the social networking sites, Pawan expressed his disappointment with the way TDP is ruling the state. As the farmers of AP called upon Pawan, he met them and assured them to fight against the government about the land pooling. In fact, this might be the biggest reason for Naidu to rethink on Pawan. As Pawan craze is increasing day by day among the public through his participations against land pooling activities  and people are also of the opinion that Pawan is the greatest reason for TDP to win the elections, Naidu might have thought that it might further cause a great loss to the party if he himself talks positively about Pawan in ‘Mahanadu’ and so omitted him completely.  By Phani

KCR should rethink on these issues! May 28, 2015 09:44

It is one year for Telangana to form as a separate state, but who is really happy after the formation. Among the students or job holders or artists or anybody, if questioned, the common answer would be ‘No’ by all of them. After so much struggle for the separate state, the one year celebration should actually earn a high significance among the people, but it seems to be like that there is no such anxiety among the students, job holders and some others who are deeply hurt by the TRS government in the state. Only those are happy!Few Political leaders and other workers who are involved in ‘Mission Kakatiya’ are found to be happy for the formation of the state, but the situation of the rest of them was openly out through the recent allegations on the government, be it with the students, employee unions, farmers or artists.     Actually, KCR has managed to own the complete credit of gaining Telangana without sharing it with Congress and thus earned CM chair. But within no time, by the continuous oppositions by the people of the state, it seems like, he himself is making Rahul, a hero by indirectly diverting the people to Congress.KCR still has a chanceFew of the political critics are opining that, KCR still has a chance, at least he should come out of all allegations by implementing welfare programmes from now.By Phani
