Kanchi seer inaugurates new Annavaram temple Gopuram

Kanchi Sankaracharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji inaugurated the new temple Gopuram of Lord Satyanarayana Swamy at Annavaram in East Godavari district today.
The function was witnessed by thousands of devotees who came from four corners of the state.
The Kanchi seer, aided by 102 Vedic scholars, performed the Maha Kumbabhishekam and Poornahuti and other related rituals to mark the inauguration of the new Gopuram. The Swami performed the holy bath to the main deity in the sanctum sanctorum with the sacred water brought from seven rivers and the sea.
According to the temple EO Mr K. Ramachandra Mohan, the programme was organized with an expenditure of Rs.35 lakh. (J)
