RBI's cut in Interest rates for the third time in a year a row June 02, 2015 14:13

It seems that the Policymakers recognized the need to put the economy on a high notch. Just days after the data released that showed India outpaced China by growing 7.5% in the March quarter, RBI takes a leap further and cut the interest rates for the third time in a row, this year. This time the cut was 25 basis points. While many economists, inside and outside the government suspects the ‘new way’ used to calculate gross domestic product, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan confirms that it never overstated how fast the nation is rising. Keeping the nation amused, he announced third cut in a row. The news played the symphony in the ears of many Investors. It is music for individual borrowers as well.  Raghuram Rajan also confirms that the ‘new way’ has not overstated how fast India is rising. "With low domestic capacity utilization, still mixed indicators of recovery, and subdued investment and credit growth, there is a case for a cut in the policy rate today," the RBI said in a statement. The RBI also warned it would keep a track of inflationary trends, citing risks posed to food prices if monsoon rains are weaker than expected, or global crude prices recover, or the rupee weakens due to volatility in global markets. "A more appropriate stance is to front-load a rate cut today and then wait for data that clarify uncertainty. Meanwhile banks should pass through the sequence of rate cuts into lending rates," the central bank said.

Thumbs down to that aspect in Baahubali? June 02, 2015 13:17

The background score is the one, which increases the range of the scene. Without a proper BGM, how great the scene is, the depth of it might not be felt by the audience. The same thing happened with Baahubali. The trailer was released on Monday across the heavy expectations. Every scene in the trailer was thoroughly appreciated by the cinema lovers. But a few of the people, who had a music sense felt that the BGM did not suit to the scenes in the trailer.  Generally, in the war episodes of Magadheera, it was the BGM, that took the scene to a next level. But, it seems like, the logic was missing this time. How can a rock beat suit to the historical war episodes?, this was the only question asked by all the Baahubali lovers after watching the trailer. However, it is a Hollywood culture to add good rock music to the high voltage war episodes. May be, the same thing was followed by Rajamouli. As the film is releasing even in the foreign countries, the rock beats might be enjoyed by them and thus help for the super success of the film. If that happens, then a small regret of having a rock beat would also be gone in the minds of Telugu audience and stay happy. Rajamouli’s intention might be to increase the thinking level of the Telugu audience and so the rock beat is.    By Phani

Puri targets Pawan again June 02, 2015 12:59

It is known that, there was a cold war going on, in between Pawan and Puri from quite some time. Controversy at the time of ‘Camera man Gangatho Rambabu’ lead to all the differences between the both. In fact, that might actually be the reason behind Puri, to write a dialogue on Pawan in ‘Iddarammayilatho’ movie saying, “prapanchamlo prathi yedhava Pawan Kalyan fan.” The dialogue resulted in a controversy among the Pawan fans and Puri had to give an explanation later. This time, with his latest flick, it seems like Puri is again targeting Pawan by using his dialogue called “raskora Samba” from Gabbar Singh. This dialogue has been used in the title song of Jyothi Lakshmi. The song lyrics goes like this. “Jyothi Lakshmi, Iam costly to touch me, eyy raskora Samba, nenu allatappa kadu, try cheskora samba, nenu ordinary kadu.”    As Charmi is playing the role of a sex worker, the lyrics meant, that she is very costly. So the Pawan fans are now saying that, a dialogue of Pawan being used by a sex worker would defame the actor’s image and is now getting ready to target Puri about this. However, the version of the director is yet to be heard.    By Phani

It has been found that Delhi's air is the most polluted in the world, half of its children have impaired lung functions. More than 70% of water supplied by Delhi Jal Board are undrinkable; it is contaminated with leakage from sewers. The population has grown from nearly 17.60 lakh 1.8 crore, the highest growth rate for any Indian city. Delhi has about 0.05 percent of the India's geographical area, but consists of 1.38 percent of the nation's population. Total number of vehicles in Delhi are more than what other three major metros of the country have, their number per km has increased from 37 to 134 since 1981. Every fifth home in the capital has a car. Government schools, hospitals, public parks have all disappeared, health and education have become the privilege of the rich. The Central and state governments in NCR, dither on fixing air quality and its residents are paying the price with their health. Times of India has published an article by Gardiner Harris, South Asia correspondent of The New York Times, on his decision to return to the US, due to the harm Delhi's air has done to his eight-year-old son, Bram. "It was a tough decision, but I told my bosses that I will have to move back. My stint here was the best job I ever had. My sons have their best friends here, but we asked ourselves, what are we doing? Lung problem is an invisible disease, but it can't be neglected," Harris said. Many expatriates in the city said that they found, the quality of life is "severely compromised" by living in Delhi.Chris Carlisle, senior manager of an automobile company in Okhla, said that he wears a mask while cycling. "I cycle a lot, but always wear a mask. The air quality bothers me. I have noticed that the air quality index (AQI) in winter goes up to 10 times the safe standard. During Christmas last time, it was 600. You can definitely feel it when it's high and you have to stay indoors."Genevieve Chase and her husband have decided to move back to the US after living in Delhi for three years. She is wary of exposing her children, aged 10 and 12, to dirty air. "We have decided not to elongate our stay because our kids are not as active here when compared with how they are in places with cleaner air. As a public health professional, I feel very strongly about it." She keeps her children indoors whenever the air quality index shoots up.Keshav Varma, who was World Bank's director for East Asia from 1997 to 2009, said "Delhi is a gas chamber, but most people don't understand how pollution is harming their health," Varma added."There's that permanent 'diesel' smell in the air. And it (Delhi) does try and balance it with some green areas but needs so much more, and so much more investment in the Metro and local electric trains," wrote a member in a British expat group discussion.By Premji

TRS bribed extra MLAs for 200 crores? June 02, 2015 11:14

In MLC elections, the TDP party had to face an insult in the Telangana state by not winning the seat. But, a few of the TDP leaders are now alleging that, the result is due to the foul politics played by CM KCR, underground.First of all, a key leader like Revanth Reddy’s arrest itself is a tight jolt to TDP, on the other hand, within few hours of the arrest, losing in the MLC elections is another jolt where, the party could not digest it. So, the party members are trying to do their best, to allege KCR, taking out some controversial points.Errabelli demands CBI probeThe TDP party leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that, KCR bribed 200 crores for securing extra MLAs for the MLC elections. He further demanded probe by Central Bureau of Investigation into all the transactions.   “How can a party which has a strength of 63 MLAs in the house, can win all the five seats contested,” Errabelli questioned.    He tried to divert the case of Revanth Reddy towards KCR, alleging that, Revanth Reddy had approached the court against the voting rights given to nominated Anglo-Indian MLA Elvis Stephenson. Therefore, it was Stephenson, who approached Revanth Reddy offering to vote for TDP candidate Vem Narender Reddy in the MLC elections. He alleged that Revanth Reddy was selectively picked by KCR to defame him and the party. The allegations are not baseless! The allegations of Errabelli cannot be dropped down completely as it is to be noted that, KCR recently hinted the media, that a surprise is waiting. The signal is regarding the winning of the extra seat in the MLC elections, the political analysts opined.    Before the declaration of the results, KCR’s confidence of the victory is paving the way to doubt on him that, he might have done some underground work. In fact, there is a news that KCR is making all special efforts to win the extra seat. The total strength of MLAs who supported the TRS party during the MLC elections is 85. But this figure is very far away from the actual figure (TRS MLAs), that is 63. So, it can be said that, Errabelli allegations are not baseless and that is the reason for his demand to order a CBI probe into the issue.Rivals of TDP made TRS win extra seatFlipping the coin to the other side, it can be said that, it is due to the welfare programmes conducted by the TRS government, and the hardcore rivals of TDP made the extra MLAs to support the party. However, the reaction of KCR regarding the allegations is yet to be heard.By Phani

‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’ is not a celebration! June 02, 2015 10:14

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’ on the occasion of completion of one year of bifurcation of the Telugu states. On one side, Telangana formation day celebrations are taking place in Telangana state and on the other side, even in AP state, in the name of ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’, a programme is conducted at Benz circle, in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The AP government instructed to conduct the programme in all the District and the Mandal headquarters too.Generally, the formation of Andhra Pradesh is actually to be celebrated every year in the undivided state, but the state government has decided to observe the day as 'reconstruction day' as the bifurcation of the undivided Andhra Pradesh was carried out against the wishes of the people.Naidu is disturbed with the bifurcation! It seems like, Naidu is highly disturbed with the bifurcation of the states, but he is not able to express it openly, as again that would create an issue and might even question his existence in the state. That is why, he might be putting his opinion differently and saying that, the Congress-led UPA government divided the United State without even a capital and that is the reason of the Congress candidates, to not even get the deposits in the elections. Frankly speaking, though the Congress party was the key reason for the formation of Telangana, though not in AP, it could not mark its identity in Telangana too, as the promotion was nowhere done by the Congress leaders. On the other hand, this has turned advantageous to KCR and thus utilized the opportunity properly and is today, the first Chief Minster of a new state called Telangana.      AP CM marked his identity by fulfilling promises! In this one year, KCR could mark his identity in announcing the welfare programmes and AP CM could mark, his identity by implementing them too. The assurances Naidu gave at the time of elections were fulfilled soon after he became Chief Minister on June 8. In fact, Naidu openly said that, June 2 was not a day of celebration, but to observe ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha.’ Lets see, how the people treat this ‘Deeksha’ and how Naidu speech inspires the people.
