The Hyderabad court has issued the warrant on Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu, director Koratala Siva and produced Y Naveen for alleged copyright violation in connection with the film 'Srimanthudu'.

The warrant was issued on February 3. In the warrant Additional Chief, Metropolitan Magistrate court ordered the trio to appear before March 3 in person or through a pleader.

The petition was filed by writer Sharath Chandra. He alleged that the movie makers have copied his novel 'Chachchenta Prema', which he said was published in a magazine in 2012.

Chandra had asked for action under the Copyrights Act. 'Srimanthudu' movie was released in 2015. Actress Shruti Hassan was the female lead.
