Rajnath Singh Assured Safe Release Of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Producers

The producers’ delegation who went to meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the issue of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil after receiving continuous threats from the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena to dismantle the screening of the film as it stars a Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, has said that the Home Minister has assured the safe release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Earlier, reports said that Karan Johar will also meet the Home Minister along with the delegation. However, later reports confirmed that Karan Johar will not be a part of it.

Mahesh Bhatt, who met the Home Minister along with the producers said, “Rajnath Singh has told us that he is with us and he will speak to all chief ministers to ensure there is no violence.”

He added, “I came here as a very concerned and unsure person. I have come back a very relaxed man after the meeting. It should be a Happy Diwali.”

Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who had also accompanied the producers, hitting out at MNS chief Raj Thackeray for threatening to vandalize cinemas and block the film, said, “Let us understand that producers do understand the sentiment of the nation. MNS cannot have the right to take law in their hands. They have harassed people before.”

Karan Johar had earlier published a video and said that he will not work with Pakistani actors in future, although he stated that his film was made much before the tensions between India and Pakistan escalated     and any attempt to boycott or block the film will affect the team of people that worked on the movie. He had said, “I beseech you to know one thing - that over 300 Indian people in my crew have put their blood, sweat and tears in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.”
