Comedian Potti Rambabu passes away

Tollywood comedian Potti Rambabu passed away in the early hours of yesterday, at his residence in Hyderabad.

He was diagnosed with neuronal cell damage and brain stroke. He was admitted to a private hospital on Sunday after his condition was deteriorated. Doctors had declared that his condition was critical. Despite several efforts, he could not survive.

Rambabu made his acting debut with a small role in Prabhas-starrer 2002 Telugu film “Eeshwar”. Rambabu got a good break with that film and supported him in grabbing good roles in the movies like “Chantigadu” and “Donga Dongadi”. This talented comedian went on to star in over 40 movies in his career spanning 14 years.

Among the number of films he acted, he got a special recognition for his performance in the movies like ‘Class Room’, ‘Kathaanayakudu’, ‘Astram’, ‘Prematho Nuve Vasthaavani’ and ‘Gopi Gopika Godavari’, along with above mentioned movies- Eeshwar, Chantigadu, Donga Dongadi.

Most of the people have been attracted with his body languages and dialogues delivery. Rambabu was born in Burugupudi village, which is near to Rajamandry and he entered the film industry in an early age. His upcoming, Puliraja IPS, in which he was the lead, is under production stage.

Actors like Manchu Manoj, Rajiv Kanakala and a few others expressed their condolences to Rambabu’s family.

Rambabu was survived by his wife and a daughter. His last rites will be performed today, in the evening.
