The Queen of spices rules the first day harvest at the box office. Well wondering what I am talking about agriculture in movie columns, then just for gags! Prabhas 'Mirchi' ruled the roost on its first day of release on February 08. Prabhas fans who were longing for a sensational hit from this young rebel star had a spicy meal, of course due credits to Bengali NRI, Richa Gangopadhyay, for her abundant and lavish skin shows.
Trade circles claim that on the release day, globally 'Mirchi' pocketed Rs 7.67 crores. In the state it collected Rs 6.77 crores while in rest of India it shared rs 0.40 crores and overseas collections were 0.50 crores. This beats the earlier records of the star.
Prabhas was impeccable in emoting. Be it his styles, action or histrionics, debut filmmaker Koratla Siva managed to get the best from the star, unseen till date. And of course his fans overwhelmed by his performance gave bumper harvest at the ticket counter.
Comedy by Brahmanandam was equally hilarious and added the pep for the film. However it was Anushka Shetty who made a huge difference to the film's assets. Her late entry in the second half and her acting versatility goes beyond comparison. Her virtual presence was well dealt by the writer turned director for maximum mileage. (Wishesh AarKay)
