CM pays tributes to Ambedkar

Commemorating the 122 birth anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B R Ambedkar, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has garlanded Ambedkar’s statue in Tank Bund of Hyderabad this morning.  A large number of students hailing from backward communities and dalits performed several cultural programmes at the venue.

Notably, many stalls were installed at the venue. The dalit leaders who gathered at Ambedkar statue raise slogans against every politician including the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. Lok Satta party chief Jayaprakash Narayana, CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu, PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana took part in the felicitation programme.

The leaders hailed Ambedker and asked the youth to follow the follow his ideologies. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary was grandly celebrated even in the committee hall of Legislative Assembly. PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana offered flowers to Ambedkar’s portrait. Deputy speaker Mallu Vikramarka has said that efforts are being taken for installing Ambedkar statue on Legislative Assembly premises.

It may be recalled that Telangana Jagruti president Kavita is on a 48-hour hunger protest demanding the installation of Ambedkar statue on assembly premises. She earlier asked as to why the government was dilly-dallying on the issue.  Several prominent people who supported her include Lok Satta party chief Jaya Prakash Narayana.
