4 workers burnt alive in cracker factory explosion
Four workers were burnt to death in a major fire accident in a fire crackers’ manufacturing unit in Nellore district today.
Reports said an explosion occurred in the firecrackers’ manufacturing unit cum go-down at Nagulapalli near Atmakur around noon resulting in the fire accident. The explosion took place when the workers were at work.
According to police, two of the killed are from Atmakur town while another person is from Rajahmundry. The details of the fourth person are not known.
The owner of the crackers’ manufacturing unit is at large. Several fire engines were pressed into service to extinguish the fire. (J)
