IIT Kharagpur students hit the bull eye as they are being flooded with pre-placement offers with a 20 percent increase when compared to the previous year.  As per the IIT officials, so far about 125 students are pre-placed while they are a month away from the final placements. On December 1st the final placements will begin and officials expect about 50 percent increase.

The highest offer made till date stands at a Rs 91 lakh per annum and international offers include Google, Facebook, Works Application and Schlumberger made their way to the national institute. E-commerce firms, start-up companies and venture capitalists are also hiring students with fancy pay scales.

The students union is quite happy with this and one of the union leader said, “A unique curriculum clubbed with courses in Financial Engineering and Engineering Entrepreneurship gives a lead to the students of IIT Kharagpur unlike any other institute.”

The national institute is putting special interest to boost the confidence of students and Prof S K Barai, Chairman of Career Development Center, IIT Kharagpur, said focus has been laid on corporate workshops, case study contests, alumni mentorship session, assessment tests and soft skill training.
