Is it the end of 'Modi Wave' ?

The Country floated in the 'Modi Wave' during the national elections in April - May and after the results, Modi's name was heard all over the country. Its been three months, Narendra Modi took the charge of Prime Minister chair and from day one is in news for every other obvious reason. However, seems like the Narendra Modi wave faded away and the by-election results brought new worries to the ruling party.

The by-elections in Bihar and Karnataka show mixed result for BJP while the grand alliance in Bihar claimed that 'Modi Wave' is no more. In Bihar, 10 legislators resigned because of being elected to the Lok Sabha and by election was inevitable. Lalu Prasad's RJD and Nitish Kumar's JD[U] along with Congress party formed grand alliance while BJP went alone. As per the latest  reports BJP managed to win only four out of its 10 seats while the grand alliance bagged six seats.

Even in Karnataka elections also, BJP lost its bastion Bellary to Congress and shockingly with a margin of 33,000 votes. In Chikkodi-Sadalaga Congress is likely to be the winner and BJP is the easy winner in Shikaripura as former CM BS Yeddurappa son is contesting.

Overall the results are quite disappointing for BJP and the leaders are tight lipped about this. The anti-BJP claims that 'Modi Wave' is no more and in 2019, BJP will be confined to opposition.
