In Uttarakhand disaster, all concentration naturally is on the stranded pilgrims and natives due to floods. But there are other life form and less thought of life.
In the journey to Kedarnath animal help is a must to carry the luggage and also some of the pilgrims who cannot walk long. Without help of the horses and donkeys it is not possible to complete the Char Dham Yatra. But when the floods hit the area, every one resorted to flee for a shelter. The animals also ran hither thither and some are wounded after some were drowned in the waters.
But, they are not forgotten by all. Some veterinary doctors went to Uttarakhand to search for the animals and treat them medically. They established a medical camp for the animals at Sone Prayag.
Some animals were found grief stricken for the loss of their masters. In addition to the medical treatment to the wounded animals, the group is also making efforts to make a happy meeting of the masters and their pet animals.
