12 colleges sealed for summer classes

chataniya-and-narayana-instThe officials of the BIE (Board of Intermediate Education) raided several colleges belonging to the Narayana and Chaitanya group of institutions in and around Hyderabad on Monday and sealed a dozen colleges for conducting summer coaching classes for students without the Board permission.

The summer classes included training for IIT-JEE and Eamcet examinations apart from classes for regular intermediate syllabus. These colleges were conducting the summer classes for a long time despite warning not to do so, said the officials of BIE. The Board had sealed 10 colleges last month on the same grounds.

“We had served notices on all these colleges and asked them to conduct summer classes after obtaining permission from the Board,” said the officials.

Till now, nearly 25 private intermediate colleges were closed down in both Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts by BIE officials for conducting summer classes this summer.

Reacting to the development, parents said that the officials are conducting these raids only in and around Hyderabad and not in other districts. “They should have a uniform policy for the entire state,” some parents said.

Many of the parents have sent their children to Vijayawada, Guntur and Visakhapatnam for this purpose since there are no raids there.
