As expected Rajya Sabha has approved the Polavaram Bill and now officially seven mandals of Khammam district will be part of Andhra Pradesh. The discussion on Bill longed for three hours and many leaders expressed their views in the Upper House. Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao went a small tiff with MPs Jairam Ramesh and JD Seelam during the debate. TRS, CPM and BJP parties have opposed the bill and Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured that the tribals will be relocated to a safer place and they will be compensated adequately.
