Andhra Family Blames Husband For Twin Murders In US March 25, 2017 12:36

Just a couple of hours ago, we have reported, the murder of an Indian woman along with her son, in Mappleset area, New Jersey, US. The victims were identified as N Sasikala (40), and her son Anish Sai (7). The report to the local police was made by the victim’s husband, Narra Hanumantha Rao, who is also a software professional working in the US. N. Hanumantha Rao, saw his wife and son, lying in a pool of blood, in his house, when he returned from the office. The family hails from Prakasam District of A.P. It was assumed to be another hate crime against Indians, which is rampant after Trump became the President. But, Sasikala’s parents, Venkateswara Rao and Krishna Kumari, who live in Vijayawada, have accused their son-in-law, behind plotting the twin-murders. They alleged that Hanumantha Rao, was having extramarital affairs and that their daughter has shared her grief, several times on the phone. The victim’s parents further added, that Rao plotted the murder of their daughter and grandson so that he could legally continue his extra marital affairs with a girl in his office. According to the parents of the victim, “He (Hanumantha Rao) called me in the morning. He said Atthayya (aunt), Sasi and Sai died.” He was pretending to be weeping. I told him that he had done those murders. He cut the call. When I tried calling back again, he did not answer”, Krishna Kumari told a local media in Vijayawada. “He had been harassing Sasikala for the last two to three years”, said Venkateswara Rao. The couple said they had tried talking to him over phone, but, Rao refused to take their calls. “He used to tell our daughter, that he would talk later. But, he never spoke to us. When he came to India twice during the period, he gave her an impression of a changed man by promising that he had come out of that relationship”, the couple said. Vijay Mallya’s Extradition Certified March 25, 2017 11:23

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Gopal Baglay, said the UK Government has conveyed India’s request for extradition of Industrialist and liquor baron, Vijay Mallya. He added the UK Home office, had forwarded the extradition plea to a district court, in order to secure a formal warrant against Mallya. “They conveyed it has been sent to a Westminster magistrate’s court for a district judge to consider the issue of releasing a warrant,” Baglay added. Earlier in March, the Supreme Court fast-tracked the proceedings against Mallya and laid its order, on contempt proceedings against him. Vijay Mallya allegedly diverted $40 million to his children's accounts in foreign banks, in violation of court orders. The Industrialist, is even accused of a loan default of over Rs 9,000 crore, from IDBI bank. This is a crucial step in securing the extradition of an individual from the UK. However, the actual process could take months, and may be even years, said a source. India has extradited a number of Britons, including Maninderpal Singh, who was convicted of raping and murdering a British teenager. No high-profile extradition has taken place from the UK to India, since a treaty signed in 1993. Extradition, in the UK, involves several steps. Most of which are time-barred, but allow several tiers of appeal. Once the Secretary of State has certified that the matter can go to court, and if the court is satisfied that enough information has been supplied, an arrest warrant can be issued. This is the point at which Mallya’s case rests currently. A bench of Justices A.K. Goel and U.U. Lalit reserved its order on whether or not Mallya was guilty of contempt, and what action should be taken to bring back the money. The court ended the proceedings after a three-and-a-half-hour hearing. The Center contended that Mallya was mocking the Indian system, after fleeing the country. The Government is also holding talks with U.K. authorities to get him deported. However, the liquor baron, fled the country days before the apex court took up the case against him. Attorney General, Mukul Rohatgi, has urged the court to direct Mallya to bring back the $40 million which he had received from Diageo. Diageo, is a British multinational alcoholic beverage company, headquartered in London, UK. Mallya had breached the court orders and his refusal to bring back the money had aggravated the breach, added Mr. Rohatgi. “He should be directed to appear personally before the court.” said the Attorney General. The Resident Doctors in Maharashtra have resumed their duties, and called off their five - day strike. This move was taken, after the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Fadnavis, gave an ultimatum to the striking resident doctors, to resume their duties or face legal consequences. Earlier, in the state legislative Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis condemned the attacks on doctors, and personally appealed to them to resume work. “As the head of state, I am willing to plead the doctors with folded hands to get them back to work. But this will be the last time. After this, strict action will be taken. We cannot show any mercy, nor forgive doctors who are leaving patients to die.” said Mr. Fadnavis. “If the doctors are continuing strike, leaving patients to die, it shows a high degree of insensitivity.” “It shows they forgot the pledge they take when joining the noble profession,” Fadnavis added. Along with 40,000 medical practitioners associated with the IMA, more than 4,500 resident doctors had gone on a mass leave for the last five days. The reason for the strike was due to the series of assault, which took place on resident doctors, in various parts of the state. Secretary of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Dr Parthiv Sanghvi, said all the 40,000 doctors have reported back to work immediately. A fruitful decision took place, between IMA and the Maharashtra Government, said Mr. Sanghvi. The CM has promised to fulfill our demands of providing additional security, added Sanghvi. The High Court said the authorities to permit only two relatives per patient in the hospital. The government should deploy security at various hospitals as assured, added the High Court. Dr.Amit, from the Nair Hospital informed that they had called-off their mass bunk and would resume their duties with immediate effect. “The Government has given us assurance verbally, but we wanted an assurance in writing which we have got today.” The government has said that it will fulfill our demands such as security, two-pass system, alarm system within 15 days, said Mr. Nair. According to a doctor’s statement, there was no ground-level implementation, till now. They were only being given assurances, but now the Medical Education Minister, Mr. Girish Mahajan, has set police personnel in every college. There will be temporary force, till April 5, that will then be replaced by the Special Armed Forces of the Maharashtra State Security Corporation, said one of the doctors. By Supraja
