Also, the screen edges are curved and there is no visible button at the front, which confirms that the smart phone may use on-screen navigation keys and include a bigger screen. Currently, the bezel-less screen smart phone market with its Galaxy S-series devices is led by Samsung. By eliminating the side bezels and reducing the top and bottom bezels exponentially, the current flagship handsets – Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ redefined the bezel-less equation. This has allowed the company to use bigger screens in compact form. On the other hand, LG has managed to trim bezels around its flagship ‘G6’ smart phone by employing 18:9 aspect ratio screen. Banks Hint Strike On Tuesday Against Mergers? August 21, 2017 12:57

Banks Hint Strike On Tuesday Against Mergers?:- Besides raising a host of other demands, the services at public sector banks may take a hit on Tuesday. This move of the public sector banks comes in, as all unions under the aegis of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) have threatened to go on strike against the government’s proposed consolidation move. Most of the customers have already been informed by the banks that if the strike takes off, the functioning of branches and offices will be impacted. Except the delay in cheque clearances, operations at private lenders like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank are expected to be normal. An umbrella body of nine unions is the UFBU. The All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC), All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and National Organization of Bank Workers (NOBW) comprise the UFBU. “As the conciliation meeting before the Chief Labor Commissioner failed, unions are left with no other option but to go on strike. There was no assurance from the government and the management of banks,” AIBOC General Secretary D T Franco said. The UFBU decided to proceed with the proposed strike on August 22, as all attempts to hammer out solutions to the demands raised by the unions bore no fruit. “The no write-off policy for non-performing assets (NPAs) of corporate loans, declaring wilful default of loans as criminal offence and implementation of recommendations of Parliamentary Committee on recovery of NPA, are the other demands”, said AIBEA General Secretary C H Venkatchalam said. By increasing charges to the bank customers, the banks should not pass on the burden of corporate NPAs, said Mr. Venkatchalam. The government should abolish the Banks Board Bureau and ensure stringent measures to recover bad loans and accountability of top executives. SUPRAJA

SC Grants Bail To Malegaon Blast Accused Lt. Col Shrikant Purohit:- The accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts, Lt. Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit, a former military intelligence officer, has been granted bail by the Supreme Court. The apex court, while granting conditional bail to Purohit said, “we set aside order of Bombay High Court.” The apex court, earlier on August 17, reserved its order on the bail petition of Purohit. Senior lawyer, Harish Salve, appearing for Purohit told the court that at present, he wants an interim bail for the interest of justice, and does not want to be discharged from the case. Salve told the apex court that in the political crossfire, Purohit was allegedly caught and was falsely implicated in the case. The National Investigative Agency (NIA), opposing Purohit’s bail petition argued that the Bombay High Court order should be upheld by the apex court. The Bombay High court, earlier rejected Purohit’s bail petition saying the charges against him were of a grave nature, after which he moved to the top court. Along with Sadhvi Pragya and others, Purohit is one of the accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts. The Bombay High Court had granted relief to Sadhvi Pragya in the case. The Malegaon blasts claimed 4 lives and left nearly 79 injured. SUPRAJA
