Pregnancy Cravings For Woman August 17, 2017 19:25

Pregnancy Cravings For Woman:- During pregnancy, most of the women experience food cravings at some point or the other. While these cravings might be for a specific type of cuisine or unusual food, they typically include the desire for sweet, salty, spicy or fatty foods. Sometimes, cravings can also be due to non food items.   The hormonal and metabolic changes a women experiences in her body tend for these food cravings. Some propose that based on the nature of these cravings, the baby’s sex can be revealed. Cravings are a well-known and expected symptom of pregnancy. For such food related urges, several theories exist. Hormonal changes are known to change taste and smell. This might explain the desire for specific, sometimes unusual foods. A temporary nutritional deficiency because of the high nutrient needs of the baby is also a possibility. The heightened need to consume these nutrient-rich foods may be due to a lack or shortage of specific nutrients. Food intake is also known to be connected to women’s emotions. During pregnancy, women might crave specific foods, consciously or unconsciously, as a response to emotional needs. Another explanation is that as certain foods correlate to the sex of the baby, cravings serve as an early means of deciphering the baby’s sex. Some pregnant women experience pica, a craving for nonfood items such as chalk, dirt, laundry starch or clay. A compulsive eating disorder that causes individuals to crave items is Pica. The items are not generally supposed for consumption. The best explanation for pica cravings is the attempt of the body to get vitamins and minerals that might be lacking in the diet. Specific nutritional deficiencies have been associated with these desires. For example, an iron deficiency is linked with cravings for ice and laundry starch; chocolate with a magnesium shortage; chalk or dirt with a lack of essential fatty acids; and more normal cravings such as red meat for protein or peaches for carotene. In many cases, when supplements were ingested, the pica symptoms were resolved. Sex Of The Baby Many individuals believe that the sex of the baby causes the abnormal cravings during pregnancy. For example, it is said that she will have a girl, if a pregnant woman primarily craves sweets, such as chocolate and candy, or dairy products, especially milk. Unfortunately there is no evidence to support this. So, even if you are craving chocolate cake your entire pregnancy, you could still be having a boy. If a woman craves sour, salty, spicy or protein-rich foods, it is thought that it could mean she is having a boy. Some think when pregnant women enjoy sucking on lemons or become meat lovers, the sex of the baby is most likely a boy, even if these foods were not previously consumed or were disliked. Again, there is no scientific proof to back this up though. Undergoing prenatal testing such as an ultrasound after the 20th week of pregnancy is the only scientific method to reliably predict the sex of a baby. More accurately, cravings are a result of hormonal changes, nutritional needs and psychological changes. Certain healthy food fixes can satisfy your craving and keep you well. - Try eating - Nonfat frozen yogurt, sorbet, or sherbet if you crave Icecream. - Mineral water with fruit juice or lime - Instead of cola. - Whole-grain bagel with fresh fruit jam - Instead of Doughnuts/pastry.     - Low-fat banana or zucchini bread - Instead of cake. - Whole-grain cereal or oatmeal, with brown sugar - Instead of Sugar-coated cereal.     - Low-sodium, low-fat chips, popcorn, or pretzels - Instead of Potato chips. - No-fat sour cream or non-fat plain yogurt flavored with herbs - Instead of Sour cream. - Fresh berries or bananas - Instead of Sundae toppings. - Fresh fruit, frozen unsweetened fruit, fruit packed in water, juice - Instead of Canned fruits in heavy syrup. - Low-fat or fat-free meats, turkey or soy Bologna, beef hot dogs - Instead of Lunch meats.     - Ice cold no-fat milk whipped with a hand-held immersion blender - Instead of Whipped cream. Hemkund Sahib Yatra August 17, 2017 18:32

Hemkund Sahib Yatra:- Also known as Gurudwara Sri Hemkund Sahib Ji, Hemkund Sahib is a place of worship and pilgrimage site for the sikhs. It is located in the Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. Nestled amid the Himalayan Ranges, Sri Hemkunt Sahib is a sacred pilgrimage revered by thousands of Sikhs every year. Adorned with beautiful scenic view, the holy place offers tranquility at such an altitude. Literally meaning “Lake of Snow”, the crystal clear water of the lake is equally cold as snow. The place can be reached by trekking through numerous waterfalls, thick forest and captivating views of the Himalayas. The gurudwara is open only for few months and close down during the extreme winter months. Visited by a myriad of devotees from all around the globe, it accounts for the highest gurudwara of the Sikh community. - History Of Hemkund Sahib The site of the Gurudwara, as mentioned in the auto-biography of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last guru of Sikhs was unexplored and untouched for almost more than two centuries. The locals were in great awe of the lake and revered the area around it, known as “Lokpal” (sustainer of people). It was Bhai Santokh Singh (1787-1843), a Sikh historian-poet, who with his vivid imagination described and explained the story of Dusht Daman meaning “vanquisher of the evil”. It is also believed that it was this place where Guru Gobind Sigh Ji meditated in his previous life. - Architecture of Hemkund Sahib Crafted out of white marble, Hemkund Sahib is an imposing star-shaped structure lying on the banks of the beautiful lake. A water body behind the structure is a source of the Lakshman Ganga. - Attractions Nearby Hemkund Sahib You can visit a small temple dedicated to Lord Lakshman located nearby. - Best Time To Visit Hemkund Sahib The Hemkunt Sahib Yatra is open for some particular months. The journey usually begins in June and ends in the month of October during which the weather allows for a pleasant expedition. - How To Reach Hemkund Sahib The only way to reach Hemkunt Sahib is on foot. The 15 km trek begins from Gobindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The last 5 km of the trek is a steep climb from the Ghangharia, the base of Hemkunt, the path winding along the surging waters of Lakshman Ganga. - Tips 1. Be prepared for any kind of weather as it changes very frequently. 2. Make sure to carry a raincoat, wind-sheeter, first-aid kit, torch, spare battery, sweater, jacket, water bottle and a good pair of trekking shoes. 3. The darshan at the Gurudwara usually closes in October. - Other Places To Visit A) Valley Of Flowers A World Heritage Site, Valley of Flowers is probably one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The spread of colorful flowers against the snow-capped mountains during spring is a must-see. You should also laze around the umpteen number of Himalayan water-falls, streams and paddocks for the beauty of the place to sink in. It is also a nice experience reaching Valley of Flowers from Joshimath. As one nears Gangaria (which is roughly 3 km from the valley), the perfumes of the flowers start coming and visitors are mesmerized by the experience. The visitors need to take a permit from Gangaria to enter Valley of Flowers. The permit is for 3 days and one can trek only during daytime. Visitors are not allowed to stay in the valley during the night and hence accommodation has to be taken in Gangaria itself. - Best Time To Visit Valley of Flowers Being a snow-clad valley, the Valley of Flowers, is almost throughout the year, is accessible to tourists only in the monsoon season, between the months of June and September. Summer season is the time, when the Valley has just begun to bloom, and hence not worth visiting, while the snowfall in winters makes the site not only hostile but also defeats the purpose of visiting this valley altogether. - Summer (March - June) : This is not exactly the most advisable time for a visit to the Valley. The snow starts melting, and the flowers do not even bloom at this time. However, being the off-season, you can go for a trek to the adjoining trekking hot spots. - Monsoon (July - September) : This is the best time for a visit to the Valley. The flowers are fully bloomed by now, and the snow has also completely melted away. The climate is also pleasant during these months. - Winter (October - February) : Beginning from October, the winter season is the least advisable time for a visit to the same. The snow starts falling, and the valley becomes unbearably cold. B) Nanda Devi National Park Himalayan snow leopard is the major attraction of Nanda Devi National park amidst the valley of flowers and mountain ranges. Other animals found here are the endangered Asiatic black bear, blue sheep, and brown bear. It is also popular for its medicinal plants and herbs. Nanda Devi peak, which is one of the highest peaks of the world can be seen very closely from this National Park. Along with Valley of Flowers, Nanda Devi National Park has been declared as World Heritage Sight. C) Fauna And Flora This area is home to several rare and endangered species including the Snow leopard, Asiatic black bear, musk deer, flying squirrel, tahr, brown bear, red fox and blue sheep. However, the density of animals is very low. Among the birds, Himalayan Monal Pheasant and other high altitude birds can be sighted in this National Park. Among flowers, orchids, poppies, primulas, marigold, daisies and anemones are very abundant. However, there are more than 500 species of higher plants in this area. Some of these plants also have medicinal values. SUPRAJA

Bomb Threat At Delhi HC - A Hoax:- After a bomb threat was received, the Delhi High Court has been placed on high alert. The Police had received a call, threatening to blow the Delhi High Court up, following which the security was tightened. However, the same has been declared a hoax. The call has been traced to a number in Western Uttar Pradesh and the police are currently trying to trace the person. The police immediately pressed into service, SWAT teams, fire tenders and the bomb squad. However, nothing has been revealed yet through preliminary searches. The Police said that it may have been a hoax call. At around 11:00 a.m, the Police Control Room received a call from north east Delhi saying there would be a blast at the High Court in an hour. Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, Delhi was on high alert all these days. The Intelligence Bureau had issued an alert stating that terrorists from Kashmir may try and strike ahead or on Independence Day. It may be recalled that the Delhi High Court had come under attack in 2011. On September 7 2011, a bombing took place outside Gate number 5 of the Delhi High Court where a brief case bomb was placed. The blast killed 17 persons and injured over 76. The bombing was claimed by the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. Hindu, Sikh-Americans Condemn White Supremacists Violence In Virginia August 17, 2017 14:49

Hindu, Sikh-Americans Condemn White Supremacists Violence In Virginia:- The violence unleashed by white supremacists during a rally in Virginia, has been condemned by Hindu, Sikh-Americans. During the rally, a woman was killed and 19 were injured when a car rammed into a crowd of counter-protesters in Charlottesville. US President Donald Trump made subsequent remarks in which he blamed both sides for it. “What our country witnessed this past weekend in Charlottesville, violently illustrated that when it comes to the expression of hateful, intolerant, profoundly bigoted ideologies, accompanied by implicit and explicit violence, tolerance can reach its limits, and such words and actions must forcefully be repudiated and condemned,” the Hindu American Foundation (HAF) said in a statement. “While President Trump condemned the forces of white supremacy, neo-Nazis and the KKK by name on August 14, 2017, the Foundation, like most Americans, stands stunned and outraged that Trump reverted yesterday to voicing a false moral equivalency between the values and actions of the groups participating in the Unite the Right rally and those of the brave individuals opposing them,” it said. The HAF said these forms of intolerance and exclusivism themselves cannot be tolerated, to maintain and build a tolerant, pluralistic society. “There is no place in American society for white supremacy, white nationalism, anti-Semitism, neo-Nazis, the KKK, or any ideology associated with these forms of ignorance and bigotry,” HAF said in a statement. “What happened in Charlottesville is shameful and reprehensible,” said Rajwant Singh, co-founder National Sikh Campaign. “Driven by the same beliefs as the terrorist who struck the Sikh community in Oak Creek, WI just over five years ago, these white supremacists, KKK members and Neo-Nazis are once again trying to divide America through hate and bigotry,” he said. “We must make it clear that their incendiary ideologies have no place in American discourse. This situation serves as a painful reminder that there is still a lot of work to be done in bringing Americans of all faiths, colors and communities together,” Singh said. SUPRAJA

SC To Look Into Conspiracy Behind Bomb Making In Rajiv Gandhi Case:- The Centre has been directed by the Supreme Court on Thursday to inform it about the probe on the aspect of conspiracy behind bomb making that had killed former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991. After one of the convicts in the assassination case claimed that this issue has not been properly probed, the apex court asked the government about the investigation being carried out on this aspect. “What is the result of the re-investigation or further investigation on this aspect? Kindly address us on this. We want only this,” a bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi said. The apex court fixed the matter for further hearing next week. Advocate Gopal Shankarnarayanan, appearing for convict A G Perarivalan, told the bench there were several issues, behind making of the bomb that killed Rajiv Gandhi, including the conspiracy which were not investigated properly in the case. The apex court earlier commuted Perarivalan’s death sentence to life term in the case. On the night of May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a suicide bomber at an election rally. 14 others were also killed then. This was perhaps the first case of suicide bombing which claimed the life of a high-profile global leader. SUPRAJA
