Unhappy Telangana Employees stage protest at TS Secreteriat September 28, 2016 10:32

A group of Telangana-origin Class-IV employees staged a protest in front of the C-Block that houses Chief Minister’s Office in Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The employees were allotted to Andhra Pradesh during the division of State-cadre staff following bifurcation of combined AP. They raised slogans after gathering before C-Block, outside the barricades put up by the security wing, demanding that they are brought back to Telangana State as assured in the past. A total of over 1,400 Class-IV State-cadre employees of Telangana-origin were allotted to AP and they are working in various departments in the AP Secretariat and a few offices of Heads of Departments of AP since then. On hearing the slogans, Minister for Industries and IT K. Taraka Rama Rao, who was in a meeting being held by Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma, came down and met them and a small delegation was allowed inside to speak to him. KTR assured the agitating employees that he would take up the matter with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and would make all efforts to bring them back to Telangana. The protest was staged by the employees since the deadline of October 3 for total shifting of AP administration from Hyderabad is approaching fast and the employees are not made up their mind to shift to Amaravati, the new capital of AP. However, official sources said "it is not easy to bring all of them back and accommodate in Telangana since supernumerary posts had to be created for them. Besides, it was also not possible to accommodate all of them in Telangana Secretariat in lieu of their present posting in AP Secretariat, where most of them are working now." Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Boycott SAARC Summit September 28, 2016 10:21

The Indian Government Announced on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be attending the 19th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit , which is going to take place in Islamabad in November this year. The India’s Ministry of External Affairs released a statement in which India blamed  Pakistan for "cross-border terror attacks"  which creates an environment that is "not conducive" to the meeting of all the eight nations.“India remains steadfast in its commitment to regional cooperation, connectivity, and contacts but believes that this can only go on in an environment free of terror. In the prevailing circumstances, Government of India is unable to attend this proposed summit. We believe that some other Saarc members will also not attend,” said the statement.Sources said that "three other countries - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan - have also signaled that they will not attend the meeting, virtually ensuring that the session will have to be relocated. Today's move is so far the biggest in India's global campaign to isolate Pakistan after four terrorists crossed the border into Kashmir and attacked an army base in Uri. 18 soldiers were killed."The Prime Minister expressed his desire to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, along with some other members of SAARC.The Indian Government announced this soon after the slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ were heard loud and clear in demonstrations and rallies across the Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), where Pakistani flags are regularly raised together with coffins of Kashmiris, killed by Indians, wrapped in green and white. PM Modi said, "blood and water can't flow together."Sources added that "India will now utilize much more of its share of water, which will eat into the surplus that Pakistan had been availing." Pakistan's Sartaj Aziz, who functions as Foreign Minister, said today that "if India pulls out of the treaty, it will amount to "an act of war". Pakistan said "though it has not received any official communication, the Indian announcement was unfortunate. As for the excuse used by India, the world knows that it is India that has been perpetrating and financing terrorism in Pakistan. It is India which has violated the international law and UN charter by interfering in the internal matters of a sovereign state, Pakistan."Afghanistan's ambassador to India Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali told NDTV last week that "it was willing to consider a joint boycott of the SAARC or South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit along with India and other members. As thousands of residents of the Kashmir Valley clashed with security forces on a daily basis for over a month, Pakistan lionized Wani as a martyr and as a leader, and, according to India, funded and incited the unrest."Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mohammed Nafees Zakaria Tweeted saying “Pakistan has noted from Indian spokesperson’s tweet on Indian announcement about their refusal to participate in the 19th Saarc Summit being hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad this November. While we have not received any official communication in this regard, the Indian announcement is unfortunate. Pakistan remains committed to peace and regional cooperation. We will continue to work to that end in the larger interest of people of this region. As for the excuse used byIndia, the world knows that it is India that has been preparing and financing terror in Pakistan. Public confessions by Kulbhushan Yadav, Indian intelligence agency RAW’s officer, is a living proof besides many other pieces of evidence. It is India that has violated the international law and the UN Charter by interfering in the internal matters of a sovereign state, Pakistan.” Also Read: AP CM Visits Polavaram Project Site, Thanks PM ModiBY M. Floods Left Roads Damaged in Hyderabad; History Repeats September 28, 2016 10:08

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have witnessed heavy downpour from 21st September onwards resulting huge damage to the roads. The heavy rainfall was caused due to the depression over the Bay of Bengal which led to Hyderabad coming to a standstill for four days. Hyderabad has previously also witnessed similar situation way back in the year in 2000.Life of Hyderabadis became standstill  with waterlogged roads and housing colonies with TRS government blaming the chaos on encroachments on nalas, or storm water drains. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said  “There are 28,000 encroachments on nalas in Hyderabad and some of them even in government complexes and we need a huge Rs 11,000 crore and 3-4 years time to rectify and remove them. There has been no innovative reorientation of the drain system since it was first done by Sir M Visvesvaraya in 1930 and for the last 60 years, subsequent governments have only made additions but not overhauled or redesigned it."KCR said that "the illegal buildings on drains and tank beds needed to be cleared immediately to improve the brand image of Hyderabad as a global city. We will relocate all the poor living in such encroached land free of cost with double bedroom flats, but every illegal construction on nalas, tank beds etc will be demolished, come what may, and whoever it belongs to, whether politician, Minister or MLA. Citizens who provide information on violations will be suitably rewarded up to Rs 10,000."As many as 41 roads were damaged due to waterlogging in Ameerpet, Banjara Hills, Panjagutta, Malakpet, Chadarghat, Musheerabad, and Mytrivanam. “Unless water is drained out with heavy duty diesel motors and repaired, they cannot be used. But with the impending rains we cannot do anything right now,” said Disaster Management Assistant Commissioner K Badrinath. However, KCR denied all media reports about damage to roads, claiming that only 10 percent of the city’s roads have been affected.Even IT corridors of Madhapur and Gachibowli were also affected due to heavy rainfall. Employees of IT companies were caught in traffic jams on Raidurgam-Gachibowli, Miyapur-Kondapur and other roads leading towards Hitech City and Gachibowli. Arpita Kulkarni, an IT employee said “We don’t have power at home and basic supplies to stay indoors, so we decided to go to an office and got caught up in traffic jams. What can we do at home, we don’t have cable network or power, and it is better to sit in the office where authorities will provide us something."GHMC’s Deputy Commissioner P Saroja stated “the rains of the last four days were unprecedented in the last three decades. No infrastructure could handle such downpour. We received 16 cm of rain in a single day on 21st September, as against 32-40 cm throughout the year." YK Reddy, chief of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) at Hyderabad warned “the worst is not over yet." Reddy has issued a red alert warning that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue. “It is the low depression in the Bay of Bengal that has driven the rains down south causing heavy downpour,” he said, adding that the La Nina effect had also kicked in. Deadly 5ft. Cobra spotted at Bandra (Mumbai)! September 28, 2016 08:13

Murlidhar Jadhav, 35, a constable attached to Shivaji Park police station and an intrepid snake catcher, managed to catch the 5-foot-long Spectacled Cobra around midnight and took it to the Aarey forest where he released it around 4 am. According to the police, Jadhav receives calls all the time from people who spot snakes in their areas. Jadhav has also been chosen as an animal welfare officer by the government. Jadhav, who joined the Mumbai police in 2007, has so far caught around 1,000 snakes. He said he was bitten by a snake as a 10-year-old, and has been fascinated by the critters every since. The Indian cobra is native to the Indian subcontinent and can be found throughout India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and southern Nepal. In India, it may or may not occur in the state of Assam, some parts of Kashmir, and it does not occur in high altitudes of over 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) and extreme desert regions. The Indian cobra's venom mainly contains a powerful post-synaptic neurotoxin and cardiotoxin. The venom acts on the synaptic gaps of the nerves, thereby paralyzing muscles, and in severe bites leading to respiratory failure or cardiac arrest. The venom components include enzymes such as hyaluronidase that cause lysis and increase the spread of the venom. Envenomation symptoms may manifest between 15 minutes and 2 hours following the bite Cobra derives from a Portuguese word for snake (from Latin original coluber) (the other is serpente) without distinction as to type. In English and in some other languages, it has been adopted as a more specific name for poisonous snakes that can produce a hood.Although the bites of some species are extremely dangerous because of their potent neurotoxins, cobras have not been shown to attack people unprovoked. Cobras almost never attack without a threat display, which typically involves raising the hood and hissing
