AAP chief and Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal got a big blow with today’s SC order May 29, 2015 13:38

In a major blow to the AAP chief Aravind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court has issued notice to the Delhi government and also stayed the observation of Delhi HC on Anti Corruption Branch's jurisdiction over Delhi Police. The apex court has also held that Delhi HC order on ACB's jurisdiction in Para 66 of the order is irrelevant. The legal tussle between the Centre and the Delhi government over the notification issued by the Home Ministry clipping the powers of the AAP dispensation has reached the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court. The Central government’s petition came before a vacation bench, comprising Justices A K Sikri and UU Lalit and is represented by Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh, who presented before the bench that the observations made by the High Court has led to total uncertainty and made the everyday administration of national capital difficult. The petition presented before a bench of Justices BD Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva, said, "The Delhi government has decided to move against the Ministry of Home Affair's (MHA's) May 21 notification. As per the notification, the LG would have jurisdiction over matters connected with services, public orders, police and land and services of bureaucrats. Allowing him discretionary powers to seek the opinion of the CM," it said. Our work in Delhi is being hindered because they don't want the magic that happened in Delhi polls to repeat in other places, says AAP leader Ashutosh.Constitution fixes everyone's responsibility, one man wanting everything to be according to his whims and fancies are causing huge harm to Delhi said Satish Upadhyay BJP's Delhi chief. Looks like AAP decided to go for confrontation rather than development. The Court will give its view, he added.AAP leader and MLA Somnath Bharti said that it is unlikely that the court has stayed a court's observation. "Never heard SC stay a High Court order. We will see the order. It is not a setback for AAP but a setback for the people of Delhi. It is unfortunate if at all the central government tries to save the corrupt officers on the basis of this order."Delhi Chief Minister is reaching out to non-BJP chief ministers to mount political pressure on the Modi government even as the matter reached the court. He is conveying to chief ministers of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal among others that the Centre’s notification, is detrimental to India’s federal structure and it may happen to their states as well.By Premji

Naidu declares war on KCR regarding OU lands May 29, 2015 12:30

On the second day of Mahanadu, Naidu concentrated on OU lands and said that all those lands belongs to the students itself and the government will not have any authority on those. It is known that Telangana Chief Minister KCR is firm on his decision to construct the houses for the poor in the OU lands. But the OU students, who are very much concerned about the lands are opposing the government from doing it and are planning for a public meeting too. Naidu, who caught hold of this point, is now targeting KCR on this issue and said, “the lands belong to the students, the government should plan to build the houses in any other area. In the past, a CM planned to construct the flyovers in the agricultural lands, but it is TDP which obstructed it. TDP is the only party which is able to oppose these activities and support the students. OU students fought for the state, so the lands should be owned by themselves, KCR is unnecessarily creating a confusion among the students by his childish activities.” Why no lady ministers in TRS?     “When 50% among the people in the society are ladies, then how could CM omit ladies to give ministry. It is TDP which gave 33% reservation to the lady employees. It also took good care of backward castes, STs and Scs. TDP will fight with the Telangana government till a proper justification is done to ladies and all those castes”, Naidu strongly said.TDP concerned about electricity!:       Naidu further assured his support to give electricity to the Telangana state. “Be it from Krishna Patnam or Hinduja, if Telangana requires electricity, let us discuss and come to a conclusion. Any problem can be solved if a mutual support among the both states is available. I said this to Telangana government previously, and I’m still ready to extend the help to the state. Under the TDP government, not even a single farmer was found a scarcity for current, but now the situation is different.” Further Naidu expressed his confidence to form the government in Telangana in 2019 elections. Mamatha to accompany bete noire Modi to Bangladesh May 29, 2015 12:03

Trinamool Congress has announced that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Dhaka next week for the signing of the land boundary agreement with Bangladesh. The Teesta water-sharing issue is also likely to come up for discussion. Syed Muazzem Ali, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India said, that he is “quite hopeful” that “something positive” will come out of the talks in India on the Teesta deal. “We want a win-win situation for both India and Bangladesh. The presence of the Chief Minister will ensure that interest of West Bengal is not jeopardised,” State's Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said. West Bengal Chief Minister has already given her nod regarding the implementation of the Land Boundary Agreement and she has also softened her stand regarding the Teesta water sharing treaty. On February 2015, Mamatha has visited Bangladesh for an “ice-breaking” meeting and the Trinamool Congress followed it by backing the land boundary agreement. This will ensure territories in Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya and Tripura are being exchanged with Bangladesh. Many of these are enclaves (territory belonging to one country entirely surrounded by the other country), even enclaves within enclaves. Prime Minister has done his homework for the Dhaka trip. Parliament has passed the Constitution amendment bill to settle India's 41-year-old border issue with Bangladesh. The bill will operationalize the 1974 India-Bangladesh Land Boundary agreement that provides for outright exchange of 161 enclaves held by the two countries. The Centre is working out a rehabilitation package for enclave dwellers who are willing to come to India. Mamata Banerjee's party lent its support to the Bill, after external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has given a specific assurance on the rehabilitation.High Commissioner Syed Muazzem Ali said: “On Teesta, we had a broad-based agreement and it was about to be concluded during former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit. I think the West Bengal government raised certain objections regarding the quantum of water they were receiving from Sikkim. And there were discussions going on between the Union government, West Bengal government and Sikkim. That process is still continuing. Prime Minister Modi has also gone there, I saw in the newspapers that Home Minister Rajnath Singh too has gone to West Bengal.” “So the dialogue process, if it reaches a conclusive step, we will be very happy to sign the agreement. Mamata Banerjee, on her recent visit to Bangladesh, also made reconciliatory efforts. So, we hope something positive will come out of the internal negotiations going on here and we look forward to the conclusion of the Teesta agreement as soon as possible. Whether it will come through during this visit, I really cannot say because the discussions are still going on. But we are quite hopeful that something positive will come out,” he added. By Premji

TDP as a national party very soon! May 29, 2015 11:39

Chandrababu Naidu will continue to be the party chief of the newly created post of national president of the party. It is known that, all the arrangements are being made for developing the regional party TDP to national level. Regarding this, nominations are invited for the post of national president of the party. A total of 30 nominations was filed in support of Naidu.Just like KCR, who is elected unanimously as the party president of TRS, Naidu will also be elected as the party president unanimously as no other nomination was filed. One leader at least from each caste has submitted nominations in support of Naidu’s nomination. Regarding this, the official announcement will be made on Monday. Mr K. Venkata Rao, the returning officer, has confirmed to announce Naidu as the president on Friday, that is on the last day of Mahanadu, as no other candidate has filed the nomination for the post. In Mahanadu itself, the officials authorize Naidu to constitute a national committee, Politburo and committees for both AP and Telangana state. Party sources said that, Mr Kala Venkata Rao’s name is at the forefront in the list for the post of AP president. No change in party logo:Though, few of the members suggested a few names like ‘Bharatha Desam’, the officials seems to be very strict on the party’s name. The symbol and the logo continue to be the same, though the officials are planning to make TDP as a national party. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, senior leader and a key man in the policy-making, said “a party can be a national party, it should contest in four states, have a minimum of 6 per cent vote share. TDP is very confident of getting the requisite vote share in the neighboring states too.”TRS policies defamed Hyderabad- NaiduSpeaking to the party members at Mahanadu, Naidu said, “Hyderabad city has grown by leaps and bounds and now stands in 135th place in the world. This is totally because of our effort and not that of the TRS or the Congress. The real estate business increased enormously. But after the bifurcation and the TRS coming to power, the situation has changed. The policies have not supported realty. With this the livelihood of the workers is lost and that resulted in the fall of the development.”  Naidu assures world class capital:When we are not aware of the proper knowledge of the construction of the capital, what’s wrong in taking the help of the experts from Japan and Singapore. Though they are giants in manufacturing sector, came forward to support us free of cost  He even said that the experts told him that the master plan which they proposed us would be better than Singapore city since we have river Krishna which is a great advantage. Pakistan accuses India for terror strike in their soils May 29, 2015 11:28

In a laughable statement the haven of terrorism, Pakistan has raised allegations against India being behind the terror activities in that country. Pakistan is known as a rogue state, in which the Army and the intelligence wing ISI trains and hosts terrorists and use them for covert operations. Pakistan also plays the victim of terrorism card and extorts financial assistance from US and use the same funds to train and host terror groups. Pakistan is very much particular that the terrorism industry, they are running should not end, so that they can receive funds indefinitely. Terrorism is a cottage industry of the Pakistan Army and ISI, used to hide the incapabilities of them. The killing of Osama Bin Laden in the soil of Pakistan is the best proof to relate the rogue country with terrorism.“The statement of the Indian defense minister should be a matter of concern not to just Pakistan, but also others in the region and beyond,” said FO spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah. “Their statements confirm the Pakistan’s apprehensions about India’s involvement in terrorism in Pakistan,” the FO spokesperson maintained.“The Senate’s Defense Committee has condemned the statement of the Indian defense minister and expressed concern. Pakistan is a victim of terrorism and has suffered more than any other country in the world. We have lost more than sixty thousand lives of our citizens and suffered economic losses of more than $100 billion. Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The statement of the Indian defense minister should be a matter of concern to not just Pakistan but also others in the region and beyond,” the spokesman added. For a question by a journalist regarding the footprints of ISIS in the Pakistan soil, he emphasized, “There is no footprint of ISIL in Pakistan. The people of Pakistan have no ideological, ethnic or linguistic affinities with the organisation and its members”. “However, we have seen some pamphlets and wall-chalking. That is not a proof of the presence of ISIL in Pakistan. Nevertheless, we are cognisant of the threat ISIL poses,” he said, “Our security agencies are aware of this threat and will take appropriate measures, if needed.”When asked about Axact’s fake degree scam in Pakistan. He said, “The investigation of the Axact related issues is still going on. As you are aware, a number of US entities and educational institutions have allegedly been named in the Axact scandal”.By Premji

Shock to Naidu In Mahanadu! May 29, 2015 10:19

Not from the party oppositions, but from the party member, that too from an MP, Naidu had to face a shock in Mahanadu. Not only state, concentrate on party- JCSpeaking at the meeting, JC Diwakar Reddy, Ananthapur MP, said that, “Naidu is always concerned about the development of the state, he kept his complete concentration on that issue and thus neglecting the issues that are taking place within the party. It would be better, if he changes his attitude, otherwise the consequences would be severe and may lead to serious conflicts, instead of realizing then, the immediate response would be advantageous for the growth of the party.”In fact, it is not new for JC to utter these type of controversial comments on the party head, he many times did it publicly. Though the comments of his are in controversial style, the internal meaning shows his anxiety for the growth of the party, the same estimation was made by the party members and Naidu too and took it positively. Actual intention of JC behind his comments? But according to the political critics, JC tried to showcase his anger on Naidu by applying positive masala to it. According to the critics, JC asked Naidu to change his attitude towards the party. As a senior politician, he might have told it to alert CM before hand from facing conflicts among the party members. But is it necessary to say in a public meeting?, is the intention behind this is to make himself popular among the public or take Naidu down among them? All these questions can be answered only by him.By Phani

Kavitha open challenge to Naidu May 29, 2015 10:01

It is known that in Mahanadu, Naidu and other TDP ministers criticized KCR in various aspects. Though  KCR is silent on these issues, his daughter and MP Kavitha gave a counter to Naidu. Speaking to the media, Kavitha said that, “how can Naidu talk about the development of Hyderabad. People are very well aware of who sold the lands here and who is the reason for the development of the city in the one year. It is an open challenge to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to have a public discussion about this issue. If he has really dared enough, he would participate in the discussion.”  “Naidu is well known to kill the people who struggled for Telangana and offering the garlands on their dead bodies. That same person now talking about the people who struggled for Telangana is a big comedy.” Kavitha missed this logic !On the other side, few of the political critics opined that when Kavitha is taking out the issue of the people who fought for Telangana and sacrificed their lives, why did not she question herself that, what is that TRS did for the families of such people?, if TRS party took a good care of the families, then there would be any question of facing the oppositions on this issue. So it is better if TRS government at least think about those families now and act accordingly.     By Phani
