No end to rapes in UP

Violence against women in Uttar Pradesh aren't stopping. Freshly a sixteen-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Moradabad district and the family alleged that she was raped and murdered. A 45 year old woman was founded hanged on Wednesday at UP and Nepal border.

In another incident, a woman was allegedly gang-raped and this time the culprits are none other than the local police. Going by the details a married woman was sexually assaulted by four policemen, including a Station House Officer [SHO], when she visited police station to meet her husband who was held for possessing a country made pistol. This shameful incident took place at Sumerpur police station of Hamirpur district.

Following the assault, the alleged victim lodged a complaint and Hamirpur Superintendent of Police. An FIR was registered based on the information provided by the woman and the SHO was arrested by the police while three constables are under absconding.

Every day about 10 rapes are being reported in Uttar Pradesh and despite taking some measurements, the crime isn't declining. The UP government is yet to respond the incident however SP of Hamirpur has assured the woman all the justice.
