ND Tiwari has to undergo DNA test: Court

The Delhi High Court-that’s probing the paternity case of Congress leader ND Tiwari-has ordered that Tiwari should undergo DNA test and provide a sample. The court has said that undergoing the test was mandatory. Earlier, N D Tiwari has denied to undergo DNA test. The High Court has also said that the police would intervene in case N D Tiwari show’s reluctance even after the order of the court.

It may be recalled that a person named Rohit Sharma, who is in his early 30s, approached the court claiming that he was the biological son of N D Tiwari. He has even produced photographs as evidences that prove N D Tiwari’s connection with Mr. Sharma. Tiwari attended the birthday celebration of Rohit Sharma.

Tiwari, who denied the allegations, said the court that the allegations were intended to defame him. N D Tiwari has also said that it would be a violation of his privacy if he was ordered to share a blood sample to prove that he was not guilty in the case.

It may be noted that Tiwari was the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and he was called back by the Centre after the vernacular news channels in Andhra Pradesh aired footage that showed Tiwari in compromising positions with a couple of girls.

Earlier, in September 2012, a Judge at Delhi High Court said the politician cannot be physically compelled to submit his blood sample. And in fresh development, today another Judge at Delhi High Court has over ruled that decision and ordered him to undergo DNA test.

The Congress party so far didn’t make any comments on this leader. Even when he was called back as the Governor, the party preferred to maintain silence. The calling back itself proved that the Centre felt he was unfot to sit in the coveted post. (Phani)
