Mallya says its better to be a rich "politician in Khadi"

Liqour Baron, Vijay Mallya has realized a few truths the hard way after facing several obstacles in his career as a businessman. On his Twitter account yesterday he tweeted, "I have learnt the hard way that in India wealth should not be displayed. Better to be a multi-billionaire politician dressed in Khadi."

This was his response to the interview of Richard Branson with a popular news channel from India. Richard is the founder of the Virgin Atlantic. He said that Vijay Mallya had brought trouble upon himself by flaunting his wealth amongst the poor people in a flamboyant way.

Talking in the interview the successful philanthropist and businessman Branson said, "I think flamboyance is dangerous. If you do show your wealth to the world too much, I think that's dangerous for any business person and I think you've got to get that balance right and particularly in somewhere like India, where there are a lot poor people".

Mr Mallya, who is at times referred to as the Indian Richard Branson, for the striking similarities in their life and lifestyle, was pleased with how the interview went. He replied in a grateful tweet, "Fair and balanced views on me and Kingfisher by Richard Branson on NDTV. Thank you Richard".
