Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has been selected for the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award 2015 by the Union government of India for his immense contribution towards the field of technology. Along with Satya Nadella, 15 other prominent NRI personalities were selected for the award and they are Mala Mehta, Rajaram Sanjaya, Kanwaljit Singh Bakhshi, Rajmal Parakh, Duraikannu Karunakaran, Essop Goolam Pahad, Shah Bharatkumar Jayantilal, Ashraf Palarkunnummal, Mahendra Nanji Mehta, Professor Nathu Ram Puri, Dr Lulla Kamlesh and Dr Nandini Tandon.

Guyana President Donald Rabindernauth Ramaotar too found a place in this award. The awards are presented every year during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas [PBD], the annual gathering of  Indian origin and non-resident Indians [NRIs] from around the world. The event is being held this year in Gandhinagar.
