Teachers day on September 05, tomorrow is celebrated across the nation in reverence by student community. On this day the students pay rich tributes to their teachers. In schools the function is awesome. On this day the student union takes over the administration and conducts the school the entire day which generally concludes with a sumptuous party by the students to the teachers.
In principle the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan is celebrated as Teachers day. A honour to the visionary who made significant contribution in shaping Indian Education system. Dr Radhakhrishnan was the first Vice President for the Republic of India and was the second President. He was a teacher and is remembered as pride of the profession. And this day is in honour of Dr Radhakhrishnan who excelled as a teacher.
boy of the school takes up the Correspondent role and the head girl becomes the Principal while the student pupil leaders take the roles of the teachers. The whole day is filled with fun and frolic. The teachers sit in classes while the students conduct the classes. The whole day moves at abreast with children dressed like elders walk through the corridors adding glitter to the celebrations. The lunch break is the happiest hour of the day when a sumptuous meal is served to the entire school at the dining room.. great occasion.
The post lunch session is filled with a variety of cultural programmes. Humorous skits, speeches and dances form the core part of the event. Then the students gift the teachers. In fact most teachers turn nostalgic after this event and some even share memories of their own school days. In the end as usual the whole school disperses after the head boy and head girl hand over their duties to the originals. And school becomes normal after a day of jubilation, the following day.
However the bonding between the students and the teachers develops with this event. Most of them develop a rapport that adds to the academics achievements of the students and aids to the progress of the educational institutes too. On the whole the day leaves an everlasting impression on one and all of the school or college. The teachers who enjoy this day every academic year, yet feel enthralled as the student bearers differ each year and their planning for the day too differs. On the students side, all of them feel elated and understand how much the teachers understand them.
