Former MP Kothapalli Geetha Convicted And Arrested:- Former Member of Parliament Kothapalli Geetha who represents the Araku constituency of Andhra Pradesh and her husband P Ramakoteswara Rao are arrested after they are announced convicted by a special CBI Court. They are sentenced five years of rigorous imprisonment in a bank fraud case. The Special CBI Court announced the verdict yesterday and Kothapalli Geetha along with three others are sent to prison. Kothapalli Geetha won as MP which is reserved for Scheduled Tribes from YSRCP and she submitted her resignation for the party in 2018. She joined BJP before the 2019 polls. Kothapalli Geetha and her husband have been facing allegations of bank fraud of Rs 42 crores.

Ramakoteswara Rao is the director of Visweswara Infrastructure Private Limited and the company is listed as the third accused in the bank fraud case. CBI registered a case and the investigation was going on against them. A fine of Rs 25,000 was imposed along with five years of imprisonment for Kothapalli Geetha and her husband. They are convicted under the sections of 420, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC. KK Aravindakshan is the fifth accused in the case of cheating. S Raj Kumar is the other accused and he too is awarded five years of imprisonment.
