Telangana High Court Announces Ban Of Firecrackers:- Several Indian state governments in the country imposed a ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in the respective states for Diwali considering the coronavirus. The air pollution may increase the number of cases and the second wave of cases is yet to hit the country warned experts. The Telangana High Court banned the sale and use of firecrackers in the state ahead of Diwali. The High Court asked the people who purchased the crackers not to use them considering the coronavirus in mind.

A petition was filed by lawyer Puligilla Indraprakash after which a division bench comprising chief justice Raghavendra Chowhan and justice B Vijayasen Reddy announced their decision. The Telangana High Court asked the state government to submit a detailed report on November 19th about the actions and steps taken to combat the coronavirus. Delhi, Odisha, Karnataka, Chandigarh, Assam banned the firecrackers completely while states like Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana allowed selective use of green firecrackers for few hours.

The Telangana High Court asked the government to impose a penalty for all those who violate the ban. The government of Telangana has been asked to spread the word about the ban of firecrackers through electronic and print media. The court also supported the argument that the use of alcohol-based sanitizers would turn out to be an additional threat while using firecrackers.
